UPDATE: Passenger Killed After Crash Sends Car Into Boca Raton Lake
The passenger in a vehicle involved in a single-car accident in the westernmost portion of Boca Raton on Monday lost her life after the vehicle slid off the road and into a canal. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) confirmed the crash claimed the life of Joanne Sue Romano, 69, of Delray Beach. The incident, which occurred around 3:00 PM near the intersection of Palmetto Park Road and Lyons Road, has prompted renewed calls for improved safety measures along this stretch of road, a concern often raised by residents in the area.
