Heat Wave Hits Boca Raton

Boca Raton, in particular, is bracing for a scorching summer. The city’s average high temperature in July is already 91 degrees, but temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s later this week and into the weekend.

What to Expect

  • High temperatures: Mid-90s, with heat indices reaching over 100 degrees
  • Humidity: High levels of humidity will make it feel even hotter than the actual temperature
  • Heat index: The combination of heat and humidity will create a heat index that feels like it’s over 110 degrees

The good news is that the humidity shouldn’t be as bad as last year, when temperatures reached record highs in June. However, residents are still advised to take precautions to stay cool and safe during the heat wave.

Stay Safe During the Heat Wave

  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water and other fluids to stay hydrated
  • Stay indoors: Avoid going outside during the hottest part of the day (usually between 11am and 3pm)
  • Take breaks: Take regular breaks in cool, shaded areas
  • Check on vulnerable neighbors: Make sure elderly or disabled neighbors are checking in with you regularly

The heat wave is expected to last through the weekend, so residents are advised to plan accordingly. Stay tuned to local news and weather reports for updates on the heat wave and any other weather-related events.
