Cultural Council Opens Sports-Themed Art Exhibit Ahead of World Cup

In recognition of South Florida’s central role in the world’s most popular sport, the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County is unveiling “Kinetic Energy: A Celebration of Sport in Palm Beach County,” an exhibition that explores sports through the palettes, cameras, chisels, and imaginations of local artists. “Kinetic Energy,” which hosts its opening reception this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and runs through June 12, is presented in partnership with the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, and covers a wide variety of athletic endeavors and individual art styles. The 14 artists selected for the exhibition include one from Boca Raton, Anna Villa, who contributed realistic portraits of athletes in action.
