Boca Raton in the Running for Providencia Award for Centennial Programming

The City of Boca Raton is a finalist for Discover the Palm Beaches’ Providencia Award, which recognizes municipalities and organizations that have made a major impact on the county’s tourism. The city’s centennial programming included exhibits, collaborating with Prosperity Brewers to launch a centenni-ale, a new sign at Sanborn Square, a concert headlined by Weezer, and even a logo. According to a centennial impact study conducted by the city:

  • 76.5 percent of Boca Raton’s residents were aware of the programming
  • 2 million Florida residents outside of Boca Raton were aware of the programming
  • 44,000 residents and visitors participated in the events and activities

The Providencia Award is presented annually to recognize the best tourism marketing campaigns in Palm Beach County. The award is given to municipalities that have made a significant impact on the county’s tourism industry through their marketing efforts.
