The City of Boca Raton is a finalist for Discover the Palm Beaches’ Providencia Award, which recognizes municipalities and organizations that have made a major impact on the county’s tourism. A centennial impact study conducted by the city found that 76.5 percent of Boca Raton’s residents were aware of the programming, while 2 million Florida residents outside of Boca Raton were also aware of the celebrations. Additionally, 44,000 residents and visitors attended events and activities as part of the centennial programming.
