Boca Raton in the Running for Providencia Award for Centennial Programming
The City of Boca Raton is a finalist for Discover the Palm Beaches’ Providencia Award, which recognizes municipalities and organizations that have made a major impact on the county’s tourism. This included exhibits, collaborating with Prosperity Brewers to launch a centenni-ale, a new sign at Sanborn Square, a concert headlined by Weezer, and even a logo. According to a centennial impact study conducted by the city:
- 76.5 percent of Boca Raton’s residents were aware of the programming
- 2 million Florida residents outside Boca Raton were aware of the programming
- 44,000 residents and visitors participated in at least one event
- The centennial celebrations generated $10.3 million in economic impact for the city
