Area Students Honored With Holocaust Education Awards
Florida Atlantic University has recognized high school and middle school students from across Florida as winners of the Craig and Barbara Weiner Holocaust Reflection Contest, an initiative sponsored by FAU’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters. Read more at BocaVibe.com.
The contest, which aims to educate students about the importance of understanding and remembering the Holocaust, received over 1,000 entries from students in grades 6-12 across the state. The winners were selected based on the quality and impact of their submissions, which included essays, poems, artwork, and other creative expressions.
The winners will receive awards and recognition at a ceremony to be held at FAU’s Boca Raton campus. The event is expected to take place in May 2024 and will feature a keynote speaker who will discuss the significance of Holocaust education.
