Cultural Council Opens Sports-Themed Art Exhibit Ahead of World Cup
In just two months’ time, all eyes of the international sporting world will be fixed on Miami for FIFA World Cup 2026. “Kinetic Energy,” which hosts its opening reception this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and runs through June 12, is presented in partnership with the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, and covers a wide variety of athletic endeavors and individual art styles. The 14 artists selected for the exhibition include one from Boca Raton, Anna Villa, who contributed realistic portraits of athletes in action.
Some of the other featured artists include:

- James Krenov, a photographer known for his stunning images of sports equipment and athletes
- Deborah L. Solomon, an artist who uses sculpture to explore themes of movement and competition
- Michael J. O’Brien, a painter who captures the intensity of sports moments through bold brushstrokes
The exhibition will also include interactive displays, allowing visitors to engage with the art in new and innovative ways. The Cultural Council hopes that “Kinetic Energy” will inspire a new appreciation for the role of sports in our community, and provide a unique opportunity for residents and visitors alike to experience the creative side of South Florida’s vibrant sporting scene.
“We are thrilled to bring this exciting exhibition to Boca Raton and the wider Palm Beach County community,” said Sarah Ann Wirls, Executive Director of the Cultural Council. “Our goal is to celebrate the energy and passion of sports, while also showcasing the incredible talent of our local artists.”
The opening reception for “Kinetic Energy” will take place this Thursday at 5:30 p.m., and is open to the public. For more information, please visit the Cultural Council’s website or contact them directly.
