According to Authorities, Deputies Were Called to the Scene

Deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene after a driver reported a suspicious vehicle. When deputies arrived, they found Benitez sitting in the driver’s seat of his car and claimed to be a firefighter with the City of Boca Raton Fire Department.

Falsely Claiming to Be a Firefighter

Benitez allegedly told deputies that he was on his way to respond to an emergency call when they asked him for his identification. When deputies requested his badge, Benitez claimed that it was in his car and refused to produce it.
