Café Boulud to Highlight Wines from Historic Estate at Upcoming Dinner
On April 16, Café Boulud will host a five-course dinner paired with selections from the historic Château La Nerthe. Founded in the 16th century, Château La Nerthe is a historic property in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, an appellation within France’s famed Southern Rhône Valley. Read more at BocaVibe.com.
Guests will learn about the history of the esteemed estate throughout the dinner, which includes six wines paired with the five-course menu. The wine pairings are as follows:
- Langoustine aux asperges blanches (with marcona almond, lemon confit, verbena) Le Nerthe, Côtes du Rhône Blanc, “Les Cassagnes” 2022
- Coquilles grillées au safran (PEI mussels, tomato confit, puffed wild rice) Château La Nerthe, Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2023
- Poulet basquaise (piperade, chorizo, pickled ramps) Le Nerthe, Côtes du Rhône Rouge, “Les Cassagnes” 2022
- Agneau provençale (lamb shoulder, rosemary, garlic) Château La Nerthe, Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2023
- Crème brûlée (with fleur de sel and vanilla bean)
- Café Boulud’s signature dessert wine, Le Nerthe, Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2019
The dinner will be a unique opportunity for guests to experience the rich history and terroir of Château La Nerthe. Chef M.B. Ross will guide diners through each course, sharing stories about the estate’s past and the inspiration behind the menu.
