In honor of its centennial, Boca Raton hosted an exciting year-long programming series that brought together area hotels, nonprofits, cultural institutions, and local businesses to celebrate this milestone. The city partnered with Prosperity Brewers to launch a centenni-ale, unveiled a new sign at Sanborn Square, hosted a concert headlined by the iconic rock band Weezer, and even designed a special logo to commemorate the occasion.

According to a comprehensive impact study conducted by the city, the centennial programming had a significant effect on the community. The study found that:
- 76.5 percent of Boca Raton’s residents were aware of the programming
- 2 million Florida residents outside of Boca Raton were also aware of the programming
- 44,000 residents attended at least one centennial event
This impressive turnout and awareness rate demonstrate the city’s commitment to engaging with its community and showcasing its unique attractions. The Providencia Award is a testament to Boca Raton’s success in promoting tourism and celebrating its rich history.
The winner of the Providencia Award will be announced soon, but for now, Boca Raton can proudly hold its head high knowing that it has made a lasting impact on the county’s tourism industry. As the city looks forward to its centennial celebrations in 2025, it’s clear that this award is just the beginning.
